Another year goes by and we gather, once again, for the Annual general Meeting (AGM). All officer reports were distributed to members prior to the meeting to speed the process. Geoff Wood was thanked for stepping in during the year, as president, due to Paul Betts Illness. Pam Jones was voted in as the new president and Doug King as the new Programme Secretary. All other officers continued to serve for another year.
The club has a healthy membership, although the numbers have dropped slightly. The club is financially sound, with a good programme for the new season. Competitions are working well and the standard remains high. The recent annual exhibition was successful and we still have a permanent presence at the RUH in the North corridor. Liz Bugg has contacted a new camera club In Alkmaar for a possible twinning with Bath.
After the meeting, Geoff presented the annual prize winners with their silverware. See the list of winners below and a few pictures of the presentations. Well done to all!

Christmas Social - 18th December 2018
The last club night of 2018 was a social get together, with food provided by the members. During the evening we all took part in a quiz kindly put together by our President Paul Betts. All questions were related to events in 2018 which brought out everyone's competitive nature. It does, however, make you realize what you don't know or have forgotten.
Three annual competitions were judged on the night by the membership. The Photo essay, which can involve between 5 and 15 linked images was won by Mike Hendon with his panel 'My Kind of Pub'. The Enprint competition is made up of three prints on a common theme mounted on a board and was won by Doug King's 'Learning to Look Up'. The Digital Trytych, a single image which is a composite of three images was won by David Nicholson with 'Avon Lights'.
Many congatulations to the excellent winning panels and many thanks go to all who organised the event.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

Although I wasn't present, it looks like a fun evening and I look forward to seeing some of the images produced. (More to come). Thank you to Suzanne for the images,

A great night for our summer social thanks to Mike Hendon and his wife Pam, who hosted the evening at their house in Bathampton. They provided some fantastic food with help from Pat Meakins and Liz Bugg. If anyone else was involved and would like a mention please let me know. I have posted some pictures taken by Sue Johnson. If anyone has pictures of other suspects then please send them to me.

Annual Exhibition - The Annual Exhibition runs daily until Saturday with over a hundred and thirty mounted prints and a similar number of projected images at the Central Library in the Podium, Bath. This year we have a new exhibtion secretary, Suzanne Johnson, who has done a great job both in organising the show and getting sponsorship from London Camera exchange, Minuteman Press, Roundstone Framing Trowbridge and Wiltshire Holiday Homes for the loan of the TV . Suzanne with a bunch of willing volunteers, 'put up' the images in the Library on Monday morning. The same evening the opening ceremony took place and was opened by the Mayor of Bath, Councillor Paul Crossley. He seemed to enjoy the show and spent a long time looking at all the images.
The show runs from Tuesday 29th November until Saturday 3rd December from 9.30 each morning. We will close at around 4.00pm on Saturday. Free entry to all.

Our Summer Social was held at the Village hall in Castle Combe, when the weather made the barbecue at Pat's house impossible.. It was organised by Pat Meakins and her husband with the help of a number of villagers and our Secretary Liz Bugg. If any other members were involved, I apologize for not mentioning you in person but, thanks anyway. There was a good turnout and with good company and excellent food it was bound to be a hit. Ted organised a raffle (of course) and there were six bottles of wine on offer.
I think I speak for everyone in saying that it was a great evening.

Christmas Social - The pre-Christmas get together is held on the final club evening before the Christmas break. It is a chance for the members to let their hair down and enjoy food, drink and the usual internal competitions.
There was a good turnout with large quantities of food supplied by all. Although not generally regarded as a very competitive evening, there were record entries for the three competitions, judged on the night by the membership.
The Photoessay ended with two entries tied but was finally won by Liz Bugg with 'Metamorphosis' after a second vote. There were 14 Enprint entries and again the first vote ended in a tie for first place. After a second vote it was still impossible to split the two and it was decided that the trophy would be shared between 'Chihily Glass Sculpture' by Paul Betts and 'Farmer's Market' by Michael Hendon. The digital Triptych was won by Daz Smith with a monochrome entry called 'Bath Street Life'.
Well done to all the winners and many thanks to all who entered.
Paul Betts ran a quiz with a large number of questions on the topic - Christmas, which generated a lot of fun. There were prizes for the winners and even a booby prize for last place

Another year has gone by and on Tuesday evening there was a very good turnout for the Annual General Meeting.
The standard agenda was completed in good time with reports presented by the various officers on the Council. Financially the club is in great shape thanks to our long standing Treasurer Ted Eyles. We have to say goodbye to our Program Secretary who is retiring due to family pressures. She has provided an excellent range of speakers and activities this year and will be missed. The Exhibition Secretary and Publicity Secretary are also stepping down and were thanked for their valuable contributions. The new competition structure seems to be working well and we continue to have large entries. The club is a vibrant and friendly place and continues to be led by our President, ably assisted by the club Secretary.
Following the meeting the trophies were presented to successful competition entrants - see pictures below.
