Such news we are dealing with this week regarding the future lockdown - I hope you are all prepared! I know this is a photo club but if anybody feels in need of help regarding the impending lockdown please get in touch with me and I will try and make suggestions to help. If I can't help I will just say!
Well - we went to Iceland last week and Ian Hargreaves gave an enthralling presentation of his short 5 day trip there. It was a true travel log and very varied using all the tools of presentation he could pack in. He included excellent maps, an AV , a very detailed explanation of his approach and route, a little video and the whole presentation was interspersed with some beautiful quotes. All this accompanied by explanations of his kit and his "thinking approach" to his work. Very refreshing Ian to have such a comprehensive account. For those of us who have been to Iceland it brought back many memories and also introduced us to fresh things.
Ian started his presentation with some very interesting facts about the history of the Iceland store and the recent (2016) legal battle with the EU. He gave a brief and relevant history of the country including the fact that the current woman PM is a Liverpool FC supporter (yay)!
Although many images were landscape he also showed us shots of the cuisine of Iceland and some architectural and cultural shots allowing us a wider picture of the country. One of the methods Ian used was to present his images side by side so we could see the before and after processing - I particularly enjoyed this aspect!
